Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ's)

Q: What happened to Crazy Horse Campgrounds?

A: After over 60 years on the Island, the property is now under entirely new ownership. Master Builder and current riverfront developer Glenn H. Engstrom has secured a new 10-year lease and is actively transforming the property into Red Rock Waterside—a premium RV and vacation resort. We are bringing uncompromising standards, massive aesthetic upgrades, and a completely elevated guest experience to this classic shoreline.

Q: What are the standard check-in and check-out times?
A:
Check-in begins at 2:00 PM, and check-out is at 11:00 AM. If you anticipate arriving after our front office closes, please contact us in advance so we can provide you with after-hours arrival instructions.

Q: What kind of hookups are available at the RV sites?
A:
Every site features water and 30/50 amp electrical service. To protect the integrity and beauty of our prime shoreline, individual sites do not feature direct sewer connections. Instead, for your convenience, we provide easily accessible on-site dump stations as well as a professional mobile pump-out service, ensuring your stay remains completely seamless.

Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A:
Red Rock Waterside enforces a structured cancellation policy based on reservation type and season. For full terms, timeline windows, and refund details, please review our complete Guest Experience Policies page.

Q: Can I receive mail or Amazon packages during my stay?
A:
Yes. We understand this is a vital amenity for our long-term guests and snowbirds. Packages and mail can be routed to the main office for secure pickup during normal business hours.

Q: What is the "Red Rock Standard"?
A:
The Red Rock Standard is our commitment to providing a clean, secure, and high-end waterfront lifestyle. To maintain this premium environment, we strictly enforce our Guest Experience Policies with a zero-tolerance approach. This includes professional management, strict enforcement of quiet hours (10:00 PM to 7:00 AM), a 10 MPH community speed limit, and a family-friendly environment where your peace of mind is fiercely protected.

Q: Can I pitch a tent outside my RV or park model for extra guests?
A:
No. To preserve our elevated aesthetic and adhere to resort zoning, we do not permit truck campers (removed from the truck), tent camping, or sleeping outside of your RV under any circumstances.

Q: Is Red Rock Waterside pet-friendly?
A:
Absolutely. We welcome a maximum of two (2) dogs per site.

Q: Can I bring my boat or off-road vehicles?
A:
Yes! Side-by-sides, dirt bikes, and ATVs are welcome, but may only be driven at idle speed directly from your site to the property exit (joyriding within the resort is prohibited). We also feature a private boat launch for registered guests and valid day pass holders. Please park all boat trailers in our designated overflow parking, not on your RV site.

Q: Are personal golf carts allowed on the property?
A:
Yes! Personal golf carts are a fantastic way to navigate the resort.

Q: Can my friends and family visit my site?
A:
We want you to share the lake life with your loved ones! Daytime visitors are welcome, provided they do not encroach on neighboring sites. Site rates include up to 2 adults and 4 children, with a maximum overnight occupancy of six (6) people per site. All non-registered visitors must check in at the Front Desk to obtain a Day Pass starting at $35 per day.

Q: Do you offer long-term stays or park model ownership?
A:
Yes! Red Rock Waterside is a hybrid resort offering both premium nightly RV sites and long-term Red Rock Residence ownership. Backed by our secure 10-year master lease with the State of Arizona, we offer the ultimate foundation for turnkey waterfront living. Contact our management office to learn more.

Q: I own a Red Rock Residence. Can I modify my site exterior or build a deck?
A:
As part of our commitment to increasing property values and community aesthetics, all exterior modifications—including decks, sheds, and paint colors—must be submitted to management for an architectural review and approval prior to beginning any construction.
